Christine Denise Navarra Trabucco

Christine Denise Navarra Trabucco April 25, 1974 – March 22, 2022 Christine D. Trabucco, age 47, passed away peacefully in her sleep early in the morning of March 22, 2022. She was born on April 25, 1974, in Poughkeepsie, NY, to her loving parents Robert and Sharen Navarra. On October 11, 1991, Christine met her future husband, Kevin Trabucco, and they were inseparable from that point on. She graduated from Roy C. Ketcham High School in 1992 and went on to earn her degree of Master of Science in Education in 2001 at Mount Saint Mary’s College in Newburgh, NY, and permanent certification in special education from the state of New York. After graduating, she began her teaching career at Beacon High School, where she taught special education for eight years before making the move to Linden Avenue Middle School in Red Hook, NY, where she was an 8th grade Special Education teacher for twelve years. She was also 8th grade team leader, 8th grade class advisor, Special Education co-chair, and trustee of the RHFA Welfare Trust. Over her teaching career, Christine made many amazing friends and touched countless lives with her kindness, sense of humor, and creative approach to teaching. Christine and Kevin married on November 14, 1998. Their son Jacob was born on February 29 (Leap Day) 2004. In 2006, the family of three moved from the city of Poughkeepsie to Athens, NY, where they met many life-long friends and lived every day to the fullest. Christine loved to exercise and travel, and had a fierce love of life, people, and animals. She volunteered with an animal rescue and fostered 18 dogs over several years. She did all this while giving endless love to her own rescued pets, which include two cats, Spencer and Joey, and a dog named Bellamy. Her kindness was matched by her unrelenting bravery and strength. She was diagnosed with lung cancer in November of 2020 and always remained determined to be an active participant in her fight, taking care of both her body and spirit. She is survived by her parents, Robert and Sharen Navarra; her sister, Laurie Navarra; her husband, Kevin Trabucco; and her son, and reason for everything, Jacob Vito Trabucco. We will always remember and miss her limitless capacity to love, her strength, her laughter in the face of fear, her passion for her work, and her unconditional love for friends and family. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at 12:00 Noon at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, 80 Mansion Street, Coxsackie, N.Y. 12051.
