Donald Clarence "Double D" Daley

Donald Clarence “Double D” Daley, age 74, of Coxsackie, NY, passed away on January 6th. 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Donnie was born on January 17th, 1946 in Troy, NY to parents John W. and Amelia P. (Beaulieu) Daley. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his siblings: Mary Ellen (Frederick) Berhaupt, Patricia A. (John Chico) Cecchetto, John E. (Ann) Daley Sr., and Helen E. (Donald) Gagen. Also predeceased by his infant daughter Heather Daley and nephew Gary Luby. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Mariea Lena Bailey-Daley, his children: Patricia (Dale) Wrobel, Traci (Gerald) Hackstadt, Wendy M. Conroy, and Michael E. Conroy; his grandchildren: Taylor, Jake, and Victoria Hackstadt, and Madison and Wyatt Hext; also survived by 14 nieces and nephews. Donnie attended Sacred Heart of Mary School in Watervliet and later graduated from Watervliet Highschool. He would later attend Hudson Valley Community College and graduate in 1991. Donald proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a Fighter Jet Mechanic during the Vietnam War from 1965-1972. Throughout his lifetime he worked at: Skolite (Troy), Portec (Troy), Tex Hughes (Watervliet), Parkside Lodge (Albany), Phillips Mahnavox (Saugerties), and Kosco Oil (Kingston) from which he retired in 2010. Donnie was a fiercely loyal and protective husband, father, brother, son, uncle, and friend. He never took the easy way out or did anything halfway. He walked many paths throughout his life, some straight and some not so straight, which gave him the gift of being a great teacher to all who crossed his path because his lessons were always sincere, honest, and from his heart. Donnie was a humble man who didn’t see the help he gave or his accomplishments. To him it is just what you do. He was a man of strong convictions. Although not a very tall man, he had a large presence. He gave his dear wife his love, strength, and his moral compass to go forward. Memories are forever. A memorial service will take place on August 17th, 2021 at the Coxsackie Riverside Park, 1pm. Arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the W.C. Brady’s Sons Inc., Coxsackie, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
