Jonathan "Jay" Alan Marston

Jonathan “Jay” Alan Marston, age 43 years, of Coxsackie, passed away on April 11, 2017, at his home. He was born on February 7, 1974, in North Hampton, Mass, and is the son of the late Everett Lawrence Martson who predeceased him on March 6, 2006, and Patricia Keough Marston of Alabama. Besides his mother, Jonathan’s survivors include his husband James (Jim) Clark of Coxsackie, children Courtney Anne Clark Chambers (husband Jim), and Gregory Martin Clark (Ashley Summers), granddaughter Madeleine Summers, brother Everett Lawrence (Lee) Martson-Somerville, Mass and his wife Theo, niece Alexandra, sister Victoria Ann McMillan, niece Amanda, great nieces Maya and Jayla, sister Heather Marie Sandor, Heather’s husband, Ron, nephews Ezekiel (Zeke) Jacob (Jake) niece Josie, sister Elizabeth Lary, Elizabeth’s husband James (Butch) Lary, nieces Emily Dykes and Sarah Dykes. During his lifetime, Jonathan attended Shaker Heights High School in Shaker Heights, Ohio, and SUNY Albany, NY earning a Masters of Economics on May 21, 2006. Currently Jonathan was employed for the NYS Department of Labor as a manager for Office of Workforce Innovations, Division of Employment and Workforce Solutions, previously was employed at NYS Division of Budget as a Budget Examiner, and before that at Different Drummer Kitchen, Albany, and at One Caroline, Saratoga as a chef. Jay was an avid gardener and an amazing chef. Jay and Jim hosted many parties and picnics at their home for family and friends. He was an avid N.Y. Giants fan, he adored his family, he loved music, loved his job, recently receiving an Award of Excellence for extraordinary leadership on the NYS 4 year Workforce Development Plan for the NYS Workforce Investment Board. Jay’s responsibility at his job was to help put people to work, and he took great pride in his work.
