Joseph Theodore Mozynski On the evening of March 24, 2016, Joseph passed away after a happy and healthy life of ninety-six years. Joseph was born in Gloucester City, New Jersey on January 29, 1920, the son of the late Józef Moszczynski and Stefania Narolska. In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his: devoted wife of sixty-seven years, Adelaide Clara Hartmann, and sister Irene Mozynski. He is survived by his: children Joseph A. Mozynski of Round Top, NY, and SusanJo Voss of Purling, NY; grandsons Erik Voss of Charlotte, NC, and Kristian Voss of Purling, NY; granddaughters Arielle Mozynski of Levittown, NY, Kimberly (Jonathan) Pappas of Miami, FL, Tonianne Bayer of Bayville, NJ, Alyssa Bayer of Leeds, NY, and Andrea Bayer of Bayville, NJ; cousin Gloria Moranski of Winchester, VA; sister-in-law Dorothy Hartmann of Largo, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. As a radio operator with the 90th Troop Carrier Squadron, Joseph proudly served his country during World War II, including D-Day, and then in the Air Force reserves. Following his military service, Joseph worked as a foreman at New York Telephone, a thirty-five year long career with ten straight years of perfect attendance. After a part-time job at Pepperidge Farm, Joseph and his wife relocated to Round Top, NY, and devoted his time to his grandsons, especially attending their soccer games and tennis matches. For most of his adulthood, Joseph was an avid golfer (hitting three hole-in-ones), tennis player, traveler, and gardener. As a dedicated husband, Joseph helped take care of his wife when she was suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Up until his passing, Joseph remained a New York sports fan, and enjoyed the news, weather, investing, sitting outside, taking care of his 'pal' Bailey, chatting with people, and being with family. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend calling hours at Richards Funeral Home, 29 Bross Street, Cairo, NY, on Monday, March 28, 2016 from 1:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. Military Honor Guard services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, at 3:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Monday at the funeral home at 3:30 P.M. with Pastor Victor Nelson of The Resurrection Lutheran Church of Cairo officiating.
