Robert A. Blacharski

Robert A. Blacharski “Bob”, age 72 years, of Greenville, N.Y. passed away suddenly on March 27, 2023. Robert was born on August 28, 1950, in Roslyn Heights, N.Y. and is the son of the late Adam and Cecelia Blacharski. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his sister Cindy Petruzziello. During Robert’s lifetime, he served his country proudly in The United States Army. He was always a very hard worker, having been employed for thirty years for Roslyn Public School System in Roslyn, N.Y. in Long Island as head of grounds and he especially enjoyed mowing the grass at the school, and also held position of Union President while at the school. Later on, “Bob” enjoyed repairing outdoor lawn furniture. Robert is survived by a loving family including his two sons William “Will” (and his wife Jessica) and Robert “Robbie” Blacharski, his loving companion Barbara Latham, his brother Adam, three sisters Lucia, Patty and Chrissy, his grandson Charlie Marino and his expected grandson who will soon be entering the world in four weeks Adam Robert Blacharski. He is also survived by his first wife Lynn Blacharski and many friends and neighbors. Robert had a great passion of always wishing to be helpful, working hard, keeping busy and loved the outdoors. He loved Blue Grass Music and in doing so gained the fond nickname of “Blue Grass Bob”, amongst several other nicknames such as “Bob”, “Big Bob”, etc. In Bob’s younger days, he loved to have a lot of fun. Being Bob loved the outdoors, nature, including splitting wood, hunting and camping - he loved going to upstate New York to Chenango Valley for the weekends, and also to Whip O Will campsites in Purling, N.Y., and conversing with other campers. His trips to Florida in the wintertime were also enjoyed. He also loved motorcycling, doing crossword puzzles and playing Sudoku, A.T.V.’s , simply just driving anywhere including going out for his morning coffee and egg sandwich. Robert loved spending time with his family, and He will be sorely missed by everyone. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend calling hours at Richards Funeral home of the Mid-Hudson Valley, Inc., 29 Bross Street, Cairo, N.Y. on Friday, April 7, 2023, from 4:00P.M. – 7:00 P.M. and also on Saturday, April 8, 2023 from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 P.M., with funeral service at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home the same day, with Pastor Rick Snowden of The Community Life Church of Catskill, N.Y. officiating.
