Thomas A. Stevens

Thomas A. Stevens, age 67, passed away on September 21, 2022 at Albany Medical Center, Albany, N.Y. surrounded by his loving family. Thomas grew up in West Coxsackie, N.Y., and was a long-time resident of Castleton N.Y. Thomas is survived by his wife of 38 years Lisa Timmons Stevens, daughter Dayna Stevens Staring, son Spencer Stevens, and grandchildren: Sage, Kaia, Nyare, Modesty, Skilar, Ethan and Coral, his siblings, Lena Cruz Tanveer, Sherian Stevens Thornton, Mitchell Stevens, Elaine Stevens Singh, Sandra Stevens, David Stevens and Donald Stevens, his two Aunts, Muriel Russell and Inez Stevens. He is also survived by a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Besides his parents, Edward W. Stevens Sr. and Catherine Russell Stevens, Thomas is predeceased by his brothers Edward Stevens Jr., and Harry Stevens, and also his sister Christine Stevens. Thomas married the love of his life, Lisa Timmons in 1984 and they were blessed with two children, Dayna Stevens of California and Spencer Stevens of Albany N.Y. Tommy’s love for gardening was on display each season with bountiful flowers and vegetables throughout their property. The restoration of old cars mostly sports cars, kept him busy throughout the spring and summer months. In most recent years, all he wanted was to be able to climb into one of his MGs with his dog Barkley and drive out to California to see his grandchildren. During the cooler months, Tommy spent time riding around in his truck with his sidekick Barkly by his side. When he was settled in his favorite chair, his joy was watching Jeopardy, MSNBC and of course his Giants. And the only thing he loved more than Lisa’s home cooking was the NY Giants! What gave Thomas the most joy last year was organizing and planning the 50th Anniversary of The Coxsackie-Athens High School Football Team, which Thomas was a football player for during his high school years - in celebration of being undefeated for three consecutive years. This first time ever special recognition for the Coxsackie Athens sports team was held on September 11, 2021. It was a joy to every coach and teammate that was able to attend. It was a very proud time for Tommy and he appreciated everyone that helped make it a success. During Thomas’ lifetime, he was employed and retired after 20 years of service at CSX in Selkirk, N.Y. and New Jersey. He retired after 8 years from the Troy City School District. In addition, he was the owner-operator of Ambrose Home Services for many years. Visitation will be held at The W.C. Brady’s Sons, Inc. Funeral Home , 97 Mansion street, Coxsackie, N.Y., 12051, on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M with prayer services taking place at the funeral home the same day at 6:15 P.M. with Rev.
