Elena DiPrima

Elena DiPrima 2/1/1927 - 5/4/2026 Elena passed peacefully on May 4th surrounded by her family. She was preceded by her husband Joe, her mother Mary, her two sisters, Mary and Sarah, and her granddaughter Jessica. She is survived by her son Robert and his wife Judy, her daughter Adrienne and her husband Tom. She leaves behind her 3 grandchildren and their spouses, Seth and his wife Jessica, Nicole and her husband Kurt, and Stephanie and her husband Nate, as well as her 12 great grandchildren Kristopher and his wife Stephanie, Sydney, Lily, Gabriel, Caleb, Ainsley, Dakotah, Mason, Grace, Asher, Ethan, and Aiden. Elena was a warm loving Christian woman who was loved by everyone who knew her. She had a gift of love and understanding that she shared with everyone. She always saw the positive side of people and in all situations. Her smile was radiant and infectious. She followed Jesus and let His light shine through her. She moved to Cairo as a newlywed and built a loving home with her husband and children. She became a strong member of her community and did volunteer work often. Once her children were grown she started her career as the Activity Director at Eden Park Nursing Home where she remained for 25 years. She blessed all the patients with her kindness and love. Her family was always her number one priority. Her love grew as her family did. She welcomed each new member and embraced them. Her love was limitless. She loved watching the birds and the deer in the field and never tired of seeing them, always awed by God's creations. At 99 years old she reflected on her life and had no regrets. She had traveled extensively and experienced many cultures. She had a wonderful family and felt she had a good life. Elena leaves behind a legacy of love. She was a shining example of God's love and compassion and what we should all strive to be. God truly blessed her and she blessed us all. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday May 8 from 10:00-12:00 noon at the Richards Funeral Home, 29 Bross St. Cairo. A celebration of Elena's life will take place at Sacred Heart Church on Friday following the visitation at 12:30 pm. In Lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Community Hospice at 445 New Karner Rd, Albany, NY 12205. Interment will take place in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Catskill.
