Fredrick W. Dedrick II

Fredrick W. Dedrick II, age 83 years, lifetime resident of Athens, N.Y. passed away peacefully at his farm on July 22, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Fred was born on November 27, 1937, in Athens, N.Y. and is the son of the late Fredrick W. and Edith M. (McCagg) Dedrick. Besides his parents, Fredrick is predeceased by his loving wife Patricia A. (Lane) Dedrick, his daughter Pamala A. Dedrick, and his brothers Blanchard R. and Jeremiah F. Dedrick. Survivors include his three children Fredrick W. Dedrick III (Milissa), Sheila M. Arcodia (Anthony) and Carol A. Roberts (William Jr.) He also leaves behind eleven cherished grandchildren Fredrick W. Dedrick IV (Becky), Kimberly A. Anderson (Samuel), Kelly A. Dedrick (Justin), Mandi L. Stockholm, Catherine J. Stockholm, Carolann Stockholm, Anthony N. Arcodia, Joseph M. Arcodia, Anna C. Arcodia, Dylan C. Roberts and Amy L. Roberts. Also left to cherish his memory he leaves behind eight beloved great grandchildren Fredrick W. Dedrick V, Jameson T. Dedrick, Raelynn G. Dedrick, Hanna R. Dedrick, Jadelynn R. Anderson, Samuel T. Anderson II, Austin D. Finn and Ashton H. Finn, and several nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. During his lifetime, Fred was a Correctional Officer at The Coxsackie Correctional Facility, located in Coxsackie, N.Y., retiring after 32 years of service there. Fredrick enjoyed his family first - he enjoyed his farm and his property immensely. One of his hobbies included hunting. Fred was also a faithful member of many local organizations. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend calling hours at The Richards Funeral Home, 28 North Vernon Street, Athens, N.Y. on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, from 2:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. at Richards Funeral Home, 28 North Vernon Street, Athens, N.Y. Graveside services will follow at the family plot of The Mt. Hope Cemetery, Athens, N.Y. at 12:30 P.M., Wednesday, July 28, 2021, where Fredrick will join his wife Patricia. All are welcome.
