Joan M. Kubler

Joan M. (Barker) Kubler, age 87 years, of Cairo, N.Y., passed away on July 3, 2024, at her home. She was born on June 8, 1937, in East Jewett, N.Y., and is the daughter of the late Robert and Nettie (Morrison) Barker. Besides her parents, Joan is predeceased by her loving husband of 48 happy and loving years Paul T. Kubler on July 18, 2019, and her son Jimmy Dolan. Survivors include her two sons Donald and Robert Mudge, and her daughter Dee Van Deiser of Texas, her brother Stevie Beach and her sister Donna Slater, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren and friends. Joan was an original owner of Mudge Gun Shop in Hensonville, N.Y. from 1963-1971. She also was employed as a chambermaid and cook over the years. Joan was also a member of The Mohican Post Unit #983 Cairo American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, of which she enjoyed being a member of and helped with their different fundraisers and their fundraising barbecues in the summer time. Her beloved husband Paul served his country proudly in The United States Army and also belonged to The Cairo American Legion Post # 983, and many other veteran organizations, and because of that, Joan especially enjoyed helping out with The American Legion Auxiliary and was very devoted. She enjoyed purchasing her fresh vegetables from Story's Farm and loved canning vegetables for her family and also cooking for her family. Joan and her husband belonged and were long time members of The Catskill Yacht Club. Many happy memories were created when she and Paul would travel and go camping and boating on on the weekend. She loved spending time with her family and will sorely be missed by all.
