Lewis J. Jobson

Lewis J. Jobson, age 61 years, of Cairo, N.Y. passed away suddenly on July 2, 2024, from a Pulmonary Embolism. Lewis was born on March 2, 1963, in Watertown, N.Y. and is the son of the late Louis S. and Mary (Burns) Jobson. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his brother William Jobson. Lou was currently employed at Flooring Environment in Malta, N.Y., as a project manager. He was in the flooring business his entire life and at one point owned his own business. Survivors include his loving wife Barbara J. (Gioia) Jobson, four children – Akira Rei, Alyssa Dyer and her husband Nick, Scott Jobson and Alex and his wife Tierra. He is also survived by his siblings Patrick Jobson, Michelle Jobson Meyer and Timothy Jobson and his wife Lucienne, his Mother In Law Lucille Gioia, his eight adoring grandchildren Peter, Cynthia, Nicolas, Susan, Adelaide, Levi, Angelina and Theo, and many other family members and friends. Lou was very involved in football. He was a Football Coach for The Greene County Pop Warner, The Catskill-Cairo Durham Football and for The N.F.L. Flag Football in Coxsackie, N.Y. He loved decorating the outdoors of his home during Christmas with beautiful Christmas lights and the people of the area would love driving by to see his home, while Barbara decorated their home beautifully inside. He loved his family and his grandchildren dearly and he loved spending time with them. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation at The Community Life Church., 20 West Main Street, Catskill, N.Y., 12414 on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 Noon., with services being held at 12:00 Noon at the church, with Pastor Rick Snowden of The Community Life Church officiating, who is also a dear friend of the family. Interment will follow in the family plot of The New Athens Rural Cemetery, Athens, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lewis’ memory may be made to The American Cancer Society, Memorial Processing Center, 6725 Lyons Street, P.O. Box # 7, East Syracuse, N.Y., 13057, in Loving Memory of Lewis’ Mother.
