Lillian Elizabeth Grillo

Lillian Elizabeth Grillo, age 71 years, of Acra, N.Y. passed away on February 5, 2020, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 27, 1948, in the Bronx, N.Y. and is the daughter of the late Edward and Ellen (Baker) Glaser. Survivors include her beloved husband of 30 years Anthony Grillo, daughters Victorine Christiano, Doreen Elliott and Tammy Grillo and her husband Christopher Johnson, her brother John Prosser, her two grandchildren who were her greatest joy Santino Christiano and Nicholas Johnson, several nieces and nephews. Lillian also leaves behind her extended family and many dear friends, who all greatly loved her. During her lifetime, Lillian was employed for many years at The Cairo-Durham High School as a server in the Cafeteria, and prior to that she was employed at Slater’s Great American in Cairo as a meat wrapper. Lillian was the proud owner of Tony’s Luncheonette on Main Street in Catskill. Lillian enjoyed cleaning, she enjoyed going to The Barnwood in Leeds every week with her friends, listening to oldies, she enjoyed doing the J.Lo dance, wearing J.Lo jeans, making prank phone calls and doing the moon walk. Her greatest love was spending time with her family and friends. Lillian had a heart of gold. She helped anyone and everyone. She collected bottles to purchase Christmas gifts for children in need, she was the first one to lend a hand or a listening ear. She had the greatest sense of humor for the many kids who grew up in her home Remember her famous saying being “You have to wake up pretty early in the morning to pull the wool over my eyes”…… Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend calling hours at Richards Funeral Home, 29 Bross Street, Cairo, N.Y. on Sunday, February 9, 2020 from 12:00 Noon – 4:00 P.M., with services being held the same day at 3:30 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Snowden of The Community Life Church in Catskill ,N.Y. officiating.
