William D. "Bill" Munster

William D. Munster “Bill” age 70 years, of Purling, N.Y., passed away on September 15, 2018, at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn, in Albany, N.Y., surrounded by family and friends. He was born on November 30, 1947, in N.Y.C., N.Y. and is the son of the late William F. and Bernice (Hunter) Munster. Besides his parents, Bill is predeceased by his sister Judy Balducci. William was a long time high school teacher for Hunter Tannersville Central School District, teaching English, film and creative writing. He attended the Germain School of Photography, has a B.S. in Secondary Ed from SUNY New Paltz, and a M.A. in Journalism from Vermont College. Also, Bill was the author of four books on the writings of Dean Koontz, and one book How to Teach In The Classroom by Steven King. He wrote a column for Scholastic Magazine. Bill also sang, played folk songs and played acoustic guitar with Lori Clinton. Bill loved his children family, music, film, photography and books. Survivors include his loving wife Marie C. Munster of Purling, his son Johnathan Munster and his wife Ashley, grandson Brody, his daughter Kacie Munster, his Godson Kyle Flynn, his brother Gavin Flynn, sister in law Liz Rasmussen and Eric, brother in law Hank Joseph, nieces Keela Abramowski, Jodi Dodge and Mariclaire Joseph, nephews Andrew Dellamorte, Christian Dellamorte, Michael Dellamorte and Dill Bini, cousins Barbara and Jim, Bobby and Karen, Diane Flynn, Richard Flynn, Bobby Callahan, Jane Holdridge , Susan Massarello, Ed Quinn, Jeanne Quinn, and Johnny Flynn, and many friends and acquaintances. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend calling hours at Richards Funeral Home, 29 Bross Street, Cairo, N.Y. on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at 11:30 A.M. at The Cairo United Methodist Church, Cairo, N.Y. , with Reverand Ann Morgan officiating.
