Angela M. Aprea

March 20, 1955 - March 13, 2017

On March 13, 2017-exactly one week before her 62nd birthday- our Dearly Loved Sister, Angela M. Aprea passed away after a long illness. Angela was born on March 20,1955 in Cherry Point, Marine Base in North Carolina ;where her dearly, loved Mother , Rose Marino Aprea, and 25 year career Marine father, Louis V. Aprea was stationed. Angela was very close to her family and was a devout believer in The Lord. Angela especially loved her children and was very proud of Blaze, her first grandson! Angela enjoyed drawing and poetry, reading, cooking and late (LATE!) night conversations with her brother, Gerard and sister, Anne. Angela worked in several facilities doing healthcare as a Cognitive Behavioral therapist and implemented several recreational programs. Besides her late parents, Rose and Louis Aprea, Angela was predeceased by her sister, Louise Aprea Formanek, and her much loved nephews, Eric Roosa and Nicholas Aprea. Survivors include her son Jesse Knapp (Brenda Vitarius), twin daughters, Christine (Eric Desly), Jane Knapp (Lee Frizzelle) and grandson, Blaze Nicholas Knapp. Siblings who will dearly miss her, include her elder sister, Anne Roosa who became especially close to her, while helping her through her last 3 years of illness, and Anne's children who were very close to their "Auntie Mango" as she was nicknamed. Brother and also, good friend, Gerard Aprea who could always be counted on to help Angela in any emergency, and his wife, Michelle, Angela's fellow "Southerner" brother, Pascal-still living in N.C., her sister, Mary Sauer and husband, Joe and their three sons, who could always be counted on during the holidays to bring Angela to their home, for a much needed respite from the rehab home, and finally, her brother, John and his wife, Julie. Also, many dear, nieces and nephews and cousins, who all loved their "cool" Aunt! Special thanks should go to true friend, and ever faithful, Sylvia Tooker and Elton and son David. Before, and even after death, they continue to do all they can, to love and support Angela and her family. God bless you, Sylvia. Special thanks also, to Maria Roosa and Alfredo Tavarez, who could always be counted on to do any errand running that Angela needed. And Alfredo- Angela said your singing always cheered her up. Angela's family would like special thanks to go to the staff of the Columbia-Greene Dialysis Center- Catskill Division and the Pines of Catskill. Their loving care and understanding-through the good and bad times- were something that will always be remembered and appreciated. In fact, even Angela mentioned, in a casual conversation to Anne- the night before she died, her gratitude for the love and understanding of all the staff. Memorial services will be held at Richards Funeral Home, 29 Bross Street, Cairo, N.Y. on Sunday, March 26, 2017, from 12:00 Noon to 3:00 P.M. Please pray for our family.
