Ann Huetter

February 22, 1927 - March 3, 2021

Ann Huetter, age 94 years, of Cairo, N.Y., was called to Heaven March 3, 2021, after a short illness at The Pines Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, Catskill, N.Y. Ann was born on February 22, 1927, in Allegheny County, PA, and is the daughter of the late John and Helen (Mares) Przlupsky. Besides her parents, Ann is predeceased by her loving husband Rupert Huetter. Ann’s life began in N.Y.C. She enjoyed roller skating, playing marbles and jackets. At the age of 17, she met the love of her life Rupert Huetter, who was a farmer. She was employed in Jewett, N.Y. at a boarding house. Rupert and Ann started their family – with their children Kathleen, John and Robert Huetter. Once their children were grownups, they began to leave the nest. It was then that Ann began working at The Hunter Mountain Ski Slope as a food server until the age of 80. She loved being with people and always lend a helping hand. One of her favorite sayings were: “It will pass.” She will be missed as Grandma Ann or G3, as she was also referred to as. She was known as “Still Kickin’ Butt” and taking names on!” She lived her life on her own terms, and she left this world on her own terms. She was called to Heaven peacefully, quietly, and when she wanted to, no bells and whistles, no family crying at her bedside, she would have not liked that. She is now with Rupert who called her “Squiggy”. When she came home from work, Rupert would be at the table waiting for her to get home to prepare dinner! “Squiggy” and Rupert are now reunited – may there be the largest casino ever in Heaven for them or there will be trouble! Survivors include her daughter Kathleen Joyce and her husband Daniel, her sons John Huetter and his wife Brenda and Robert Huetter and his wife Susan. Also surviving are her sister Helen Sinchuk and her two sister- in- laws Phyllis Pruzlupsky and Rosie Martin. She is also survived her beloved nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend calling hours at Richards Funeral Home, 29 Bross Street, Cairo, N.Y. on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 P.M. Prayer services will be conducted at the funeral home the same day at 2:00 P.M. Due to the Covid19 Pandemic, all protocols in accordance with the health department will be followed for everyone’s protection. Springtime interment will take place in the family plot of The Maplewood Cemetery, East Jewett, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ann’s memory may be made to Community Hospice, 47 Liberty Street, Catskill, N.Y. 12414. Condolences may be made at www.richardsfuneralhomeinc.net.
