Anthony J. Radosti, age 88, of Cairo died Friday January 6, 2017 at Greene Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Catskill. He was born December 30, 1928 in Passaic, New Jersey and was the son of the late Matteo Radosti and Maddalena Buacarino. Anthony was affectionately known as “Tony or uncle Ant”. He spent his entire life dedicated to helping family and friends of all ages. His careers included the garment industry in New York City, 40 years in the aero-space in New Jersey (so very proud of his part of putting a man on the moon), small construction projects including the old Cairo Diner, Cairo, co-owner of Croswell’s Emporium in Cairo and 20 years of doing “meals on wheels”, Acra, NY. He was very active in New Jersey for civil rights issues which included a 24 hour hot line service, speaking engagements at high schools and colleges, and one on one help for youth and families. He was also a proud and dedicated member of the Rotary Club of Cairo and a “Paul Harris Fellow”. Survivors include his sister Josephine Anzalone, Springhill, FL, his partner of 53 years, David S. Hart and 22 nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers Joseph, Carl, Martin, Franks and sisters Frances Radosti, Mary Donadel and Lucy Becker. Anthony’s passions were opera and working with his hands and helping anyone he met through his life journey, He loved his land and his house he built with his own hands in Cairo. A celebration of Anthony’s life will be a memorial service on Saturday, May 20, 2017, time to be announced, at The Bavarian Manor, Mountain Avenue, Purling, New York, 12470.
