Frederick D. “Freddie” Tippins November 11, 1927 - September 14, 2021 “Loving Husband, U.S. Navy Veteran, Licensed Mechanic and Master Mechanic” Frederick D. Tippins, “Freddie”, age 93 years, of Coxsackie, N.Y. passed away on September 14, 2021, at St. Peter’s Hospital, Albany, N.Y. Frederick was born on November 11, 1927, in Catskill, N.Y. and is the son of the late Dewey and Cornelia Tippins, who were of Catskill, N.Y. Frederick proudly served his country in The United States Navy, entering the service during The Second World War, serving for two years as Air Crewman. During his lifetime, Frederick was employed at various places and was a very hard worker. He was locally employed at Lacy Ford, after that for Zwickle Lincoln Mercury as a licensed mechanic at both establishments. In 1952 he was employed at Savin Construction Co. for 22 years working in heavy duty maintenance and supervision. Fred also was employed at several interstates and thruways - The Building New York State Thruway Atomic Power Plant in New London, Conn. – rebuilding the City of Hartford Conn., Interstate 84 Interstate 91 and Interstate 86, Thomaston Dam, Rebuilding The Waterfront of New Haven Conn Interstate 95 West Port, Conn, Townsend Dam Vermont Hawthorn Circle, Power lines over the Ramapo Mts., 17 Harrison Toll Gates, Double Bridges over Brewster New York Route 84, Taconic Parkway, Chatham N.Y. to Berkshire Spur. After Fredrick’s returning home to Greene County in 1970 he was employed and worked from Blue Circle Cement Company in Ravena, N.Y. in 1991. Fred is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Joan (Snyder) Tippins – they were joined in matrimony on August 5, 1951. He also leaves behind his niece Carolyn Maciejko of Turin, N.Y., his nephew James Freeman of Lowville, N.Y., six great nieces and nephews, and three cousins Mary Ellen and Linda Tippins both of Savannah GA, and Donna Lee Rickkmeyer of Cairo, N.Y.
