Mrs. Harriet Algozzine

September 14, 1917 - December 31, 2015

Harriet Algozzine, 98, died suddenly at her residence on December 31, 2015. Born in Catskill, one of four daughters to the late Frank and Harriett Pflegl. Harriet loved reading, knitting and her grand and great-grand children. Harriet was predeceased by her husband, Philip, daughter Phyllis Antonelli, granddaughter Karen Ann McCarthy and her sisters Mabelle Zeh and Margaret Hack. She is survived by her son Chris (Bea) and daughter Marie (David) Garcia, son-in-law John Antonelli and her sister Virginia Smith. She is also survived by her grandchildren Christopher (Bonny), Thomas (Heather), Kimberly Antonelli Rizzo (Mathew) and Edward McCarthy (Susan). She is also survived by her 9 great-grandchildren, Andrea, Zachary, Lillian, Colin, Ian, Nicholas Rizzo, Maddison Rizzo, Alexandria Rizzo and August McCarthy. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families. Harriet was a life member of the Cairo Hose Company Ladies Auxiliary and the Meeting House Hill D.A.R. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend calling hours at Richards Funeral Home, 29 Bross St. Cairo, on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home, with Rev. Johanna Tipple of The First Reformed Church in Catskill officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot of The Cairo Cemetery. Contributions in her memory may be made to The Cairo Hose Company Ladies Auxiliary, Railroad Avenue, Cairo, NY, 12413, and The Meeting House Hill D.A.R., C/O Robin Stapley, Regent, 56 Route 145, Cairo, NY, 12413.
