Mr. Jade R. Post Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

JADE ROLAND POST Jade R. Post, age 55 years, passed away on September 24, 2015. He was born on February 21, 1960, in Catskill, NY, and is the son of Roy Jr. of Leeds, NY, and the late Dolores Post who passed away on March 27, 2015. Besides his father, Jade is survived by his daughter Lena Vinelli, sister Jacqueline Sanson, brother Jason Post, uncles Mark Post and Sam Post and aunt Madeline Homeyer, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Jade spent most of his life as a lumberjack and later as a union operating engineer. He was employed by The Windham Prattsville restoration after Hurricane Irene. He was an avid woodsman and hunter. He loved running his hounds and listening to their distinctive and telling sounds in the woods at night as they tracked bears who were later released. Jade was also an accomplished turkey caller. He had friends come from Canada and also from many of the southern states to hunt turkey. In almost all cases, they were successful. Jade will be remembered by all who met him for his love of laughter. During his too-short life, he could always make a party happen just by showing up, be it two people or twenty. As to Jade’s wishes, memorial services will be held at Richards Funeral Home, 29 Bross Street, Cairo, NY, on Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 2-4 PM during this time family and friends will share memories.
