***UPDATED OBITUARY FOR NADENE SEYMOUR-BARRETT*** ***REGARDING VISITATION AND FUNERAL SERVICE ON SATURDAY, MARCH 5, 2022 *** Nadene Seymour-Barrett passed away at home Monday February 28 surrounded by her loving family. Nadene was born March 6, 1934 and was lovingly doted upon by her parents Myrtle and Samuel Savage. Raised in Maine, Nadene graduated Bangor High School in 1951. Upon graduation, she married her high school sweetheart Arlen "Dick" Seymour, whom were both 15 years of age when they met. Together they created a beautiful life and were blessed with 5 daughters. Although they lived in many states during their early years of marriage, they ultimately settled in Hopewell Jct. NY. Unfortunately, they were not able to grow old together as Dick pass suddenly in 1980. Nadene and her daughters were blessed when she found love again marrying G. Harvey Barrett in 1984. In 2007 she and Harvey moved to Coxsackie NY where they currently resided. Nadene worked for Dutchess County Office of the Aging 1982 to 2006. She made many friends throughout her career and was adored by the many whom she came in contact with as the manager nutrition sites in Fishkill, and Beacon. She was a light in the lives of many seniors. She is survived by her loving husband Harvey Barrett, and 5 daughters, Sharon Seymour of Pleasant Valley, Terry Seymour and husband William Fleming of Pleasant Valley, Yvonne Davies of Coxsackie, Adrienne Seymour-Greene and Bill Jr. of Coeymans Hollow, and Jennifer Donlan and husband Brian of Greenville. Nadene also leaves behind 23 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren, nieces ,nephews, step-grandchildren and step great grandchildren. She missed the birth of her first great-great grandchild by mere weeks. She is also survived by a sister, Elissa "Betty" Durando of Bangor, Maine. Nadene was pre-deceased by grandson Aaron Davies, sister Addie Williams, and nephew Dion Seymour Jr. Nadene was nothing short of amazing as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Always a tremendous source of strength, comfort, and love for all her family. There will forever be a large void in all of our lives without her physically with us but she will live always in our hearts and minds forever. Calling hours will be held at The W. C. Brady’s Sons, Inc. Funeral Home, 97 Mansion Street, Coxsackie, N.Y. 12051, on Friday, March 4, 2022 from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. ***UPDATED VISITATON AND FUNERAL SERVICE: **** Visitation will be held at The W.C. Brady's Sons, Inc. Funeral Home, 97 Mansion Street, Coxsackie, N.Y. on Saturday, March 5, 2022, from 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M., with funeral services at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home, with Pastor Peter Wash of The Medway Congregational Christian Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot of The Chestnut Lawn Cemetery, Route 9W, New Baltimore, N.Y. 12124. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Medway Congregational Christian Church 1324 County Route 26, Climax, NY, 12042 or Senior Projects of Ravena, 9 Bruno Blvd., Ravena, N.Y. 12143.
