Philip A. Williams Jr., 57 On the morning of June 16, 2015, Butch passed away after a four year battle with cancer; while being attended to by his sisters, Cynthia (Cindy) Gabrielle and Sheila Stoddard at his home in Greenville, NY. Butch was 57 years old. Butch was born in Danbury, Connecticut on September 25, 1957. He was the third child out of five to Dorothy Willams-Dallas (Baird) and the predeceased Philip A. Williams, Sr. Butch was in the Navy for a few years. He received an honorable discharge after the death of his father. He has lived in different places such as Hillsdale New York, Waterbury Connecticut, West Palm Beach Florida, Nashville Tennessee, Athens New York and Greenville, New York. Butch had many great experiences in life. In the eighty’s, Butch lived in West Palm Beach, Florida and acting became his passion. He was an extra in Miami Vice and in the movie Police Academy 5. He also was a black belt in Twi Kon Doe. During this time he had his own car detailing company. After that he became a truck driver and that is the career path that he continued until just a few months ago. He has traveled to every state within the United States except Alaska. Butch had a hobby of writing lyrics which led to a move to Nashville, Tennessee . After many years, he moved back to upstate New York to be closer to his family. His favorite hobby after moving back to New York was bass fishing. He spent many hours fishing and teaching his daughter, nieces and nephews how to fish. Lots of fish were caught and laughs were had. Butch had a love for horses and had such a big heart that he gave his horse to someone who he thought needed the horse more than he. He also loved Rottweiler’s. He had two during his lifetime. Cody and Max. Butch also had a passion for years of writing lyrics to country music. Butch was married four times throughout his life and he was on friendly terms with his ex’s prior to his death. He and first wife Joanne Read had a son, Brian Read. His second wife, Carol Bobeck Russell added many beautiful memories to his life and assisted him through his many career choices. When he returned to NY, he met and married Colleen Sickles. Colleen also lost her battle to cancer. She was loved much by Butch and her children. In 2002, Butch married Vickie Salvesen. They were later divorced but they have a beautiful daughter Jade Lynn who is 10 years old. Left to honor Butch and remember his love are his children, Jade-Lyn Willams, and Brian Read. Brians’wife, Shayla Read and their children Jackson and Ellison. Butch’s mom, Dorothy Williams- Dallas, “dad” Alvin J. Dallas, sister Cindy Gabrielle, brother-in-law, Ricky Gabrielle, sister Sheila Stoddard, brother-in-law, Gerald Stoddard, brother, Al Williams, sister-in-law, Terri Williams, brother, Ray (Buddy) Williams, sister-in-law, Lori Williams, niece Susan Barth and her husband Scott Barth, Tina Hosier, Wayne Hosier, Leslie Hosier, Jessica Stoddard, Justin Stoddard, John Wheeler, Joe Wheeler, Becky and Steven Gogger, Brittany Williams, Brandon Williams, Hope Williams and many great nieces and nephews, cousins and aunts and uncles. He had many friends but George and Loretta Langdin were very helpful during his cancer treatment. The family would also like to give a special thanks to everyone at Hospice that helped Butch and the family through the past two months. A very special thanks to all those who donated to the GoFund to help with Butch fulfills items on his bucket list. The memorial service will be held at Richards Funeral Home at 28 North Vernon Street in Athens, New York from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. Gathering at the Athens Firehouse following the memorial service.
