Mrs. Pietrina A. Ragaini

Pietrina A. Ragaini, age 62 years, of Catskill, passed away on June 30, 2016 at Albany Medical Center. She was born on April 26, 1954, in Brooklyn, N.Y. and is the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Geraci) Calcavecchia. During her lifetime, Pietrina was employed as a bank teller for several banks, also she was a bookkeeper, an accounts payable clerk and also she was employed by The Town of Athens as a clerk. Pietrina was very dedicated in helping organizations in the community with fundraisers, especially The Republican committee for the Town of Athens. Pietrina was a member of The West Athens Limestreet Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She loved cooking and was an avid baker her specialties were jarring sauce, her Italian butter cookies, rice pudding and cream puffs to mention a few. Also she loved going to the casino in Saratoga. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her husband, children and grandchildren. She loved music and loved watching her husband Michael play drums. Survivors include her husband Michael J. Ragaini, her son Michael Ragaini Jr. and his wife Paula and her daughter Melissa Ragaini, brothers Stephen, Benedetto and Joseph and sisters Marie, Anna, Sylvana and Elizabeth, and her three grandchildren Michael, Nicholas and Daniel, also many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Also survived by Frank Montoni. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her sister Linda Calcavecchia on March 2, 2015. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend calling hours at The W.C. Brady’s Sons, Inc. Funeral Home, 97 Mansion Street, Coxsackie, NY, on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 from 6-8 PM, and on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Wednesday evening, at 7:00 P.M. The West Athens Lime Street Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary will hold services in her memory at the funeral home. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 7, 2016, at 9:30 A.M. at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Coxsackie, NY, with Rev. Fr. J. Moyna, The Celebrant. Interment will follow in the family plot of St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Catskill, N.Y. Donations may be made to the Family to help with medical expenses.
